He got the job!

I'm back with a new blog post! So, Garrett applied for the job as a computer support technician on BYU campus, and he got it! We are so happy. It is right up his alley as an I.T. major, and he really enjoys going to work. It's a pay raise, too! Yipee. He has already made some friends working there and he learns new things about computers every day. He is still doing awesome in school, and he aced his first math test with 100%!

Besides the excitement of the new job, we have just been doing the usual! I have been making lots of home decor and crafts in my spare time, and I really enjoy it. It keeps me busy when Garrett is at school and plus my apartment looks cute! I was also given a calling as a visiting teaching supervisor in our ward. It is a pretty simple calling which I am grateful for! The sisters in our ward are extremely nice and I always look forward to relief society.

I am so grateful for general conference this past weekend! One of my favorite talks was by elder Holland, he spoke about mental illnesses and depression. He put it all into perspective. Being far away from my family has been extremely hard for me, I won't lie! I have had my fair share of lonely days, and this adjustment to married life has been somewhat of a challenge. I get depressed pretty easily and it can be very hard for me to remain positive. I am grateful that Elder Holland is aware of our struggles, and that he can let us know through the promptings of the spirit that he feels that God's love is ALWAYS there. It is such a blessing to have leaders in our church who know of our needs, and can testify that through the gospel we can be healed. I am also extremely grateful for the temple. Garrett and I love going and doing a session and feeling the peace that is there. My relationship with my Father in Heaven truly has grown as I have turned to him in my times of need and trusted that he DOES have a plan for me, and he is watching over me.

Any way, I have a few fun pictures to share! I hope you all have a great day! Love you all!

Made a fall wreath. Thinking of painting the letter yellow. What do you think???

Back to School ...

Garrett has gone back to school for the fall semester! From what i've heard about his first week, he is glad to be taking classes that are geared towards his major, instead of boring math/english/science classes. He has been studying very hard, keeping up on all his homework and actually enjoys going to some of his classes! haha. He had 2 job interviews this past Monday for jobs on BYU campus doing I.T. related work. We hope to hear back from them by the end of the week! It would be great for him to get one of these jobs because it would look great on a resume for a future job, and it pays better then the job he has now. But, we MUST keep in mind that everything happens for a reason! If he gets the job, great, if he doesn't, we are still very happy!!

As for me, I am still just working away. I recently transferred to Orem wal-mart pharmacy and I really like the people I work with! They call me the "baby" of the pharmacy, since all the other technicians are 25 or older. I have every Thursday off, which means a day doing whatever. Garrett is at school so I am usually home alone, doing laundry or cleaning. Last weekend we had the chance to go to Boise for one of my good friend Tessa's wedding. It was very beautiful! I am glad to finally have a friend who I graduated with who is married so I don't feel so "old."

Well, enjoy these pictures! I love my family and friends very much. I am extremely grateful for all i've been given.

Celebrated our six month anniversary eating yummy pf-changs :)

He wanted to model his beard before he had to shave it off for school :)

Garrett's favorite new tires. He bought tire shine and made them look even "prettier!"

Summer Adventures PART TWO....

We have had so many fun times at the end of our summer! Look at the pictures and their captions to see all the fun. :)

I had to share this one, just cuz we are nerds and work at WALMART!!

I spoiled myself a little.. I had a day off to myself and went and got me a new skirt. It is so comfortable!!

We were sooo thrilled to be starting off our weekend with a day off. We went to ikea... and got a new laundry hamper!! woop woop!!

We went to Boise for the weekend and this is what my family's feet looked like when they got home from trek!!! NASTY... and smelly haha. But they said they had a really great time. I wish i could have gone, too!!

The next weekend we got to go to sweet Cooper's baby blessing! He is such a precious baby. When they are this little, I get a little nervous holding them! But he is sooo cuddly, and I love his full head of hair. We got to BBQ after the baby blessing and had a lot of good food... Thanks Josh, Hill, and everyone who contributed! Such a good memory.

The NEXT weekend, we met my family in Park City for an awesome weekend of fun. The original plan was to go to San Francisco, but after adding up all the costs and expenses, it just wasn't in the cards. Luckily, we still made GREAT memories and most importantly spent time together and laughed a ton. This is us swimming at our hotel.. silly Garrett didn't want to get in!

Our hotel was AWESOME... it had two levels, a master suite, a kitchen, and we stayed upstairs on the pullout bed :) valet parking was MANDATORY...we felt like we were living in paradise!!

Another shot of our hotel... the fireplace was awesome.

We went to the Sundance film festival the next night and saw "Annie get your gun" It was a fantastic show, very funny and Annie was an amazing singer and actress. I highly recommend going, it is beautiful up in the mountains, too!!

We stopped by the outlets on our way out of park city and Gar got himself a new pair of clearanced nike shoes! I love them and I think he does too :)

We drove to Poki and stayed a night and went to Lava hot springs. This is my mom, josh, scott, and his friend zach floating the river. They did awesome on the big rapids.

We went to the hot springs... the pools ranged from 102-112 degrees!!! SOOO hot. but they were very relaxing and they actually didn't have that nasty sulfur smell!! After the hot springs we went to the cold pools and and swam and went down big waterslides.

All zonked out from a long day of fun!!!

These are the waterslides we went down.. Well, Garrett wouldn't do it! He says he never has and never will go down one of these big waterslides. But We still had fun and made lots of memories!!

June/July Vacation Fun!

On June 27th we went to Boise for our camping trip with our family. We had a great time! We went to the lake and swam, hung out with cousins, sat around the campfire making s'mores, playing card games and charades, and ate a lot of good food! My mom was a wonder woman, she made all of our meals which were delicious. Garrett and I loved using all of our new camping gear. It was fun to play with all my little cousins. My cousin Daxton who is 6 years old, always makes us laugh. One day, Daxton, Coy, and Tyce had dirt on their feet so my aunt Rachel took them into the women's shower room to wash them off. They all noticed that the women's shower room was much bigger then the men's, and Daxton's response was: "That's because women have small brains!!" Hahaha it was just too funny not to share. The last day of our camping trip we went in to Mccall and had lunch at a burger joint called "My Father's place." It was just really fun to have all the family together and relax. When we got back home to Meridian, I hopped right in the shower and boy it felt good! We stayed at my parents house for a few days and just relaxed and played ticket to ride with my siblings, watching glee, movies, and going to taco bell at midnight! We had dinner at uncle Danny's house one night, he made bratwursts.. they were great! We all traveled back to Utah the next day. We stayed at my Grandma Needles house and got to see my aunt Jenny and Uncle Derek and their kids from New Mexico, And also Aunt Angie and Uncle Justin from Phoenix. It's always fun to see them since they live so far away! We went to Lagoon for the day which was sooo much fun! Even though we couldn't get my mom, Jenny Kay, or my aunt, Jenny Lynn on the wicked :) It was a hot day but since we went on a Wednesday we didn't have to wait in long lines! It was fabulous. That night we went to Arctic Circle and Aunt Jenny introduced Garrett to their delicious peanut butter cup shakes. He says they come in a close second to Dairy Queen! He loves blizzards. On the fourth we had a great day, We had a family bbq and helped my grandparents clean up their yard and planted flowers in "Casey's Garden." We spent some time at Garrett's mom and dad's as well. When we got there, they were throwing water balloons over the house to see how far they would go. We played charades.. it's always fun!I got my hair done the next day! I went dark. It was very shocking looking in the mirror after! I will miss the blonde, but it was extremely hard to keep up with since my roots would grow out so quickly. I like it so far! We went to Coy's baptism on Saturday. There is something very special about watching someone you love so dearly receive such a special gift and become clean. I am so grateful for his decision, and I know he will continue living in the way his Heavenly Father would want him too!
Of course all good things must come to an end... today Garrett went back to work, and I go back tomorrow. No fun going back to real life! It still hurts having to say goodbye to my family. Call me a baby, I cry every time! I can't wait to be with them again.
