Happy Holidays!!!!

We had a fabulous Christmas and New Year. We spent time with family and had a really good time! My family came to Utah on Christmas Eve and we were able to spend Christmas morning with them. We got some great gifts from them! I got a Kitchen Aid, a Chi straightener, and Garrett got a drill, gift cards, and moneyy!! We are excited to use our pfchangs gift card we got in our stocking :) Thanks mom and dad!!
On Christmas Eve we went to the Kundis family dinner and gift exchange! We had our traditional German dinner, with sausages, cabbage, potatoes, and my personal favorite, the brussell sprouts! Mommy Chris, you rocked that dinner! thanks so much! We opened our presents from Gar's mom and dad on Christmas Eve. We got great gifts! a griddle, clothes, a jar of money, a picture for our apartment, and more! It was a fun night. On Christmas day we spent time with my Grandma Needles, my cousins, aunts, and uncles. We did our "favorite things" gift exchange and shared our favorite recipes. Grandma made a delicious dinner and Aunt Deb made her famous "grasshopper ice cream" It was DELISH!

We did other fun things over the holidays as well. We went to city creek with  my family and took the front runner. I'd never taken the front runner, so it was quite the experience. Garrett loved it, he felt like he was back on his mission in Sweden because he took buses and trains almost every day. We celebrated our nephew Landon's 3rd birthday... He sang what does the fox say and was very excited to open all his presents! He likes dump trucks, power rangers, and making me laugh :) He is just growing too quick!
On new years eve we had a really fun time at Aunt Karen and Uncle Chris' house! We had a "pajama party." Played games, eating Chinese food, watched the ball drop, and crashed on their couch. :) It was a great way to ring in the new year! My new years resolution isn't to necessarily "lose weight".. but more importantly live a healthier lifestyle by exercising and watching what I eat. You could say my body has changed since I graduated high school. My confidence has taken quite the turn once I realized I put on weight I can't eat anything I want anymore. Instead of dwelling on how I used to be, i'm just trying to accept my body as it is but more importantly take care of it by exercising and eating good foods!

We are loving our new apartment! It is cozy and cute. It is teaching us a little bit about how to manage our money since our rent went up :) Our favorite thing to do is watch our favorite shows and movies and enjoy our big kitchen!

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. I feel Christ's love especially during this time as I realize how blessed I am with the wonderful family i've been given. Thanks to all my friends and family for your never ending love and compassion! I hope you all remember Garrett and I love you dearly!

Thanksgiving/November

We had a great Thanksgiving! The month of November seemed to just fly by. We went to Boise for thanksgiving and it was a lot of fun. My uncle Danny and his family were there, along with my uncle Matt and his daughters. Rachel's boys tagged along with us and unfortunately they were not feeling well and now I have their sickness! It's a bad cough, sore throat, fever, the whole nine yards. But Thanksgiving was still a blast. Garrett and I made the sweet potatoes (well, cut and peeled them) haha. We took a nice long nap after our meal which was fabulous! And then of course we had to join in on the black Friday madness. We ended that night with breakfast at Denny's. I realized this would be my last Thanksgiving/Christmas with my brother Josh before he leaves on his mission. I fall apart every time I think about it! But I am so proud of him for wanting to serve a mission and I know he will do great out there. It's just the big sister coming out.  It was no fun coming home and going back to work, that's for sure! On another positive note, our lease is up for the apartment we are in now, and we just found our new apartment and put our deposit down! It is located in Provo, right off the freeway. It has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom. It will be nice to have an extra bedroom for our craft/fitness/music/storage room, until we want kids. New carpet and paint in the unit, and the best part, a washer and dryer included!! No more carrying loads of laundry down three flights of stairs. :) I believe we will be there until Garrett graduates, or longer. Anyway, I am excited to move in but also nervous! Here are a few pictures from this month. We love you all, have a merry Christmas!

Girls night out! We went to "Color me mne" and painted pottery.

End of October

We have been somewhat busy lately! But we have still managed to have fun. :) Garrett had a birthday on the 17th.. we celebrated just the two of us that day at pfchangs and he opened his first present which was tickets to the BYU vs. BSU game. The cougars won! It was a great game to be at and I even got to see some people I knew from Boise. That following weekend, my family came up and stayed in our little apartment! It's always fun when they stay the night cuz it's like a slumber party! There is no walking space, and we are all sleeping through the hallway clear up to the front door! That Saturday we went to the walk for Shaniel in Price. It was a great turnout! Even though I didn't know Shaniel all that well, I was so happy to be there and support her family as they try to raise awareness of domestic violence. That night was Garrett's birthday party. We went to the bowling alley at byu and it was a lot of fun. We had pizza and cake, and Garrett got an ipad from my parents and his parents. He is spoiled! Around halloween time we went to frightmares at lagoon. We had season passes this summer, and they were so worth it. We went so many times and it was always a blast! We stood in line for a haunted house for about an hour. It was a long wait, but the haunted house was really scary. I don't think I looked up from Garrett's chest more then once. I was really happy Matt and Abby got to go with us. They are always fun to hang out with! They are like our only friends who ever want to hang out, haha. For halloween we went to my aunt Rachel's house and went trick or treating with her kids. They looked so cute in their costumes!

Garrett recently introduced me to one of his favorite swedish treats "pepparkaka" they are just like ginger snaps, but wayyyyyyy better!!! You have to have them with a glass of milk. If you haven't had them, go to ikea now and buy some!

We were way excited when they won!

He got the job!

I'm back with a new blog post! So, Garrett applied for the job as a computer support technician on BYU campus, and he got it! We are so happy. It is right up his alley as an I.T. major, and he really enjoys going to work. It's a pay raise, too! Yipee. He has already made some friends working there and he learns new things about computers every day. He is still doing awesome in school, and he aced his first math test with 100%!

Besides the excitement of the new job, we have just been doing the usual! I have been making lots of home decor and crafts in my spare time, and I really enjoy it. It keeps me busy when Garrett is at school and plus my apartment looks cute! I was also given a calling as a visiting teaching supervisor in our ward. It is a pretty simple calling which I am grateful for! The sisters in our ward are extremely nice and I always look forward to relief society.

I am so grateful for general conference this past weekend! One of my favorite talks was by elder Holland, he spoke about mental illnesses and depression. He put it all into perspective. Being far away from my family has been extremely hard for me, I won't lie! I have had my fair share of lonely days, and this adjustment to married life has been somewhat of a challenge. I get depressed pretty easily and it can be very hard for me to remain positive. I am grateful that Elder Holland is aware of our struggles, and that he can let us know through the promptings of the spirit that he feels that God's love is ALWAYS there. It is such a blessing to have leaders in our church who know of our needs, and can testify that through the gospel we can be healed. I am also extremely grateful for the temple. Garrett and I love going and doing a session and feeling the peace that is there. My relationship with my Father in Heaven truly has grown as I have turned to him in my times of need and trusted that he DOES have a plan for me, and he is watching over me.

Any way, I have a few fun pictures to share! I hope you all have a great day! Love you all!

Made a fall wreath. Thinking of painting the letter yellow. What do you think???

That slide was seriously awesome! hahaha

Back to School ...

Garrett has gone back to school for the fall semester! From what i've heard about his first week, he is glad to be taking classes that are geared towards his major, instead of boring math/english/science classes. He has been studying very hard, keeping up on all his homework and actually enjoys going to some of his classes! haha. He had 2 job interviews this past Monday for jobs on BYU campus doing I.T. related work. We hope to hear back from them by the end of the week! It would be great for him to get one of these jobs because it would look great on a resume for a future job, and it pays better then the job he has now. But, we MUST keep in mind that everything happens for a reason! If he gets the job, great, if he doesn't, we are still very happy!!

As for me, I am still just working away. I recently transferred to Orem wal-mart pharmacy and I really like the people I work with! They call me the "baby" of the pharmacy, since all the other technicians are 25 or older. I have every Thursday off, which means a day doing whatever. Garrett is at school so I am usually home alone, doing laundry or cleaning. Last weekend we had the chance to go to Boise for one of my good friend Tessa's wedding. It was very beautiful! I am glad to finally have a friend who I graduated with who is married so I don't feel so "old."

Well, enjoy these pictures! I love my family and friends very much. I am extremely grateful for all i've been given.

Celebrated our six month anniversary eating yummy pf-changs :)

He wanted to model his beard before he had to shave it off for school :)

Garrett's favorite new tires. He bought tire shine and made them look even "prettier!"
