GRATEFUL

I can’t believe I am 30 WEEKS! Where did the time go? Although being pregnant can be taxing at times, I have really enjoyed it. I feel like I am getting my bonding time with my son before he is even born.

Keaton already has so much character. Whenever the dr. puts the doppler on my stomach, he gives it a firm kick and it's like I can hear him saying "Get that off of me!" His favorite time to kick is after I eat something sugary or right when I lay down to go to sleep. Lately his movements have become much more obvious! I love it.

At my last dr. appointment we did my glucose test which I passed! I was relieved, because I have kind of been eating a lot of sugar haha. I also had my rhogam shot since I have a negative blood type. The shot itself didn’t hurt, but after it started to feel like a bee sting. I have also had to have two root canals done recently that put me in a lot of pain. I had them done, and a week after one of them was still hurting, so I had to go back and they had to completely redo one of them because there was still infection in the tooth. Still today the tooth hurts, but i'm hoping it's just because it is sore. If the tooth continues to hurt, my dentist says it could be a possible fracture which would require them to pull the tooth. But I am trying to have faith in the fact that it is slowly starting to feel better. I had to take antibiotics and all that fun stuff. I can't tell you how many nights I couldn't sleep because my tooth just throbbed all through the night. I am grateful for my husband who was able to give me a priesthood blessing to help me heal and feel comforted.

My current cravings...
A&W root beer floats
Any kind of chewy candy

This past weekend, I had my baby shower in Boise! It was so fun. I am very grateful for my amazing mom who planned it and made it happen. She is very creative and made everything look darling.  I am grateful for my friends Tessa and Samandra and my sweet sister Megan who helped as well. Tessa made and amazing cake that just looked so cute! I got some great gifts from all the great friends I have. My parents got us a 4 moms mama roo rocker! I am so stoked for it! Garrett's parents got us the diaper bag of my dreams! My mother in law was sweet enough to mail it all the way to Boise. I am so grateful for wonderful parents who have supported us in our decision to have a baby!

The time is definitely getting closer to the day we get to meet our boy. My appointments will soon start to be every 2 weeks instead of 4. I am nervous mostly just for labor and delivery, because I have never experienced it. I want things to go smoothly. I can only pray they will and try not to think about it until it actually happens! I appreciate those who pray for me, I can feel your love!

Trimester 2.. halfway there!!

I can't believe I am halfway through my pregnancy already! The time flew! I am very grateful for the opportunity I have to carry my sweet boy. Our lives are going to change so much! There are so many things I am looking forward to:
1.) Seeing Garrett as a dad. He rubs my belly and says "Hi son!" he also practices pushing the stroller around the house and tells me.. "don't laugh this is serious!"
2.) Me becoming a mom! I am of course nervous, but I am excited to be that person to someone. I look up to and love my mom so much, I want another human to love me the way I love my mom. I am excited to hopefully feel so wanted and loved by someone because I take care of them!
3.) Seeing our family with our little man. I can't wait for my parents to become grandparents, and to see Garrett's parents have another boy to add to the bunch! This baby is so loved already, by so many people.

So far, my pregnancy has been going smoothly. Besides the severe nausea and vomiting I had until about 14 weeks, and my headaches, things are good. The day we went in to find out the gender of baby was a very exciting day! We were so nervous and anxious all morning. I had a feeling it was going to be a boy before we went in for the ultrasound. The tech didn't even have to tell me, I saw his little peanut right away!! The 20 week ultrasound looked good as far as the u/s tech could tell, and at my next visit we will review the results from the radiologist. The baby was breech during the ultrasound, but that can change quite often.  I have an anterior placenta, which means my placenta was on the front side of my stomach. It's not a bad thing they said, it may just cause me not to feel the baby move as much (This was a relief because I was worried about that) but this can also change during the course of my pregnancy I was told.   Baby measured 9 OZ. about the size of 2 cubes of butter. Of course when we got home that night, Garrett was carrying around 2 sticks of butter saying "I love you baby!" LOL!! When we went to Vegas this past weekend, we went and saw a cirque show, and baby started kicking when the drums were playing. Not just kicking, he was going crazy!! He must like the drums like his dad.

We recently bought the furniture for the nursery, which was so fun to set up. Before I got pregnant, we saved money for our furniture and baby needs. We are broke now, so I am looking forward to a baby shower! LOL. The furniture wasn't cheap! We decided to invest in a nicer one so we can use it for all of our future kids.

Anyway, thank you to everyone who keeps us in your prayers. We feel them as they bring blessings to our little family! Can't wait to bring our son into the world and show him how many people love and care for him.

1st Trimester

The thought of being a first time mom is exciting and nerve wracking! I've never done this pregnancy thing before, so I am learning so much every day. I am SOOO excited to be parents with my sweet hubby. We will be far from perfect, but we will love our little bundle of joy with all our hearts!

I thought I had an idea of what pregnancy would be like.. I always heard "Oh you will be peeing like a race horse!" or  "You will throw up so much!" I guess I just didn't know to what extreme I would experience symptoms. From week 5 on, I have thrown up multiple times every day. I can count on one hand the number of days I have NOT thrown up. I have lost 8 pounds since I got pregnant, something my Dr. is monitoring carefully. It has been really hard getting myself to work each day. I am receptionist at a dr.'s office, and sometimes I will be helping a patient and have to stop them mid sentence and say "i'll be right back!" and if i'm lucky, make it to the bathroom to throw up! My mother in law works at an Ob/gyn office and got me some samples of this miracle pill called Diclegis.. its unisom and B6 and it has definitely helped me out a ton! So grateful for modern medicine. This week (Week 11) I have started to feel some relief, and was actually hungry for the first time. And the Cravings have definitely kicked in! Besides the nausea, I am always always tired, and I'm sometimes moody. Garrett is really patient and understanding, even when he makes me food and I throw it right back up. If you know me well, I am a hypochondriac. I worry about every little symptom I experience. Sometimes I worry when I don't feel sick, if the baby is ok. I want to be a perfect home for my baby for 9 months and provide and protect the best I can. All of the symptoms I experience scare me, but luckily I have my husband, my moms, and my Dr. to reassure me that what I am experiencing is NORMAL, and it will pass.

Our first Dr. appointment was good. We met with the Dr. and did routine bloodwork, and she tried to use one of her hand held dopplers to find the heartbeat. When she couldn't find the heartbeat with it, I went in to panic mode and started freaking out. But they did an ultrasound and found it that way. 172 BPM :) and measured right where I thought we would be!

Current Pregnancy Cravings: Watermelon with Salt, FRUIT, and my biggest craving.. Salt and vinegar chips. :)

Besides all of these nasty side effects, I really am grateful to be pregnant. It only took me a few months to get pregnant which is a huge blessing.  I am grateful Heavenly Father trusts me enough to take care of one of his precious Angels here on earth and for eternity. I only hope I can make a great mom, and I know without a doubt Gar will be the best dad. He is already so excited and cares so much about our little peanut. Our lives have already changed so much, and when baby comes, we will be in for a learning experience. One thing will never change.. There will always be love in our family, and it will only get better from here! <3

Thanksgiving/Christmas/Spring

I am so behind on my blogging! So, this may be a long post. I have just been slacking and have fallen behind! Anyways...
Thanksgiving was fun! We spent it with Garrett's mom and dad at our Aunt Lynda's house. Mom Chris made the most delicious yams.. which has always been my favorite part of thanksgiving meal. After our turkey coma's, we went and did black Friday shopping. Garrett has always loved it, so we had to go. We got a new vacuum for like $40 at wal-mart.. and I got a cheap sewing machine.

Christmas we spent in Boise.. it was fun! We flew there on Christmas eve. It hadn't been snowing all day in either place, but once we got on the plane it turned into a complete blizzard! I get anxiety on planes as it is, so this was a bit terrifying for me. but we made it out alive! The drive from the airport to my parents house was worse then the plane ride. We had a really delicious dinner when we got there. We did our regular "Christmas eve traditions" .. pajamas and a movie to watch. We also had Uncle Danny's family over and did secret santa with them. The weekend before we went to Boise we opened our secret santa's from garrett's side of the family. Garrett got a signed byu football from his uncle Chris. It was a really thoughtful gift and I could tell Garrett really loved it! I got a family recipe book and ingredients for the recipes from mom Chris. This is by far the most used gift we got for Christmas! It has recipes from my parents, Gar's parents and from siblings. I absolutely love it! It is my go to book when I have no idea what to make for dinner. That night with Gar's family we also spent some time singing Christmas songs around the piano. Just being together was the best! I am so grateful for music. Christmas morning we woke up around 9 .. haha! We got some awesome gifts. Floor mats, new pots and pans, clothes, gift cards.. We are spoiled.

For New Years we spent at Garrett's mom and dads.. We had cheesecake and apple cider and watched the ball drop.. very fun!

February we celebrated our two year anniversary! It is crazy how fast the time went. I am so grateful for Garrett.. he is patient and loving, and never gives up on me. I don't know how I got so lucky!! We took a road trip to Phoenix and got to visit Kevin and Annie. It was so much fun! We had a good time. Went mini golfing, got pedicures (Annie and I :)) and went to Cheesecake factory for dinner. We didn't want to leave! We hope to make it back down there sometime this summer.

Anyway.. Garrett recently got a new job! We are very grateful that he got it. He works at a company called  Imagine Learning doing tech support. He says he hates leaving work.. so that's a good sign! I am really happy it worked out for him. I hit my one year mark at my job at the Dr.'s office. I have a great boss! I can't believe it's been a year already! The days go by slow, but the years go by fast. We are both very fortunate to have such great employment and to work with such great people.

My brother Josh seems to be doing really well on his mission! He is coming up on his 8 month mark.. I can't believe it! He is a great example to our family. We really miss him but we know he is where he is supposed to be.

"Kundis Cake" for Gar's birthday
We are looking forward to the summertime.. we are planning a few fun trips with family. We got a grill and Garrett loves making burgers and stuff! He is a great cook.. gets that from his mom. I am also very excited that my cousin Makalie lives with my aunt now, I love having someone close to my age to do things with and talk with! We have been doing zumba which has been really fun.

Here's a few pictures from the last few months!
